Two Manor Senior High School students were injured, one seriously, in a head-on collision early Tuesday on FM 973 in Manor, police said.
A white Chevy pickup, driven by Francisco Caal-Pec, 22, traveling northbound, struck a red Toyota pickup, driven by Julissa Ortiz-Lopez, 18, a student at the high school, traveling southbound, just after 2 a.m., police said.
Both drivers have been charged with drunken driving and Caal-Pec has been charged with intoxication assault.
There were six passengers, all students at the high school, in the Toyota. One was airlifted to an area hospital and the other taken to a hospital by ambulance. Parents picked up the others, Manor police Lt. Lawrence Rideau said. Caal-Pec also was taken to a hospital.
