So this item seeks the board approval of policy extracurricular and cocurricular activities. It limits them to those that have been central to the success of the activity. The policy also codfys much of the law, you cannot discriminate in allowing them to participate in activity. Significantly, the rules committee suggested amendment from the rules committee, you will see in quotes on the page of this item, it is that unless specifically authorized by law, no student shall be charged a fee for his or her participation in educational activities and to ensure that all have access to educational extracurricular and cocurricular activities.
