FRANKFORD A New Jersey State Police trooper transporting a prisoner was among three people involved in a two-vehicle, head-on collision in the Augusta section of Frankford Saturday afternoon.
According to State Police Sgt. Philip Curry, Trooper Michael Clifford was traveling southbound on Route 206 around 3:27 p.m. Saturday while transporting Angel Belcher, 35, of Newton.
A Hyundai Elantra driven by Jonathan Kozmoski, 23, of Milford, Pennsylvania, made a left turn in front of the police car, causing the two vehicles to collide near mile marker 113.7, just north of the State Police barracks, Curry said on Sunday.
Trooper released from hospital after head-on crash that hurt prisoner, drivers

A New Jersey State Police trooper who was injured in a head-on crash while transporting a prisoner has been released from the hospital, police said.
Trooper Michael Clifford was driving a prisoner along Route 206 in Frankford Township Saturday afternoon when his car collided head-on with a car being driven by Jonathan Kozmoski, 23, of Milford, Pennsylvania, Sgt. Philip Curry said.
Kozmoski made a left turn in front of the police car, resulting in the crash, Curry said.
Clifford, Kozmoski, and the prisoner, Angel Belcher, 35, of Newton, were all injured in the crash. All three were treated at nearby hospitals and released, Curry said.
