MRPL: MRPL records ₹1,137cr profit after tax in Q4 | Mangaluru News

MRPL reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 1,137 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-24, with a gross refining margin (GRM) of $11.4 a barrel. The company's revenue from operations stood at Rs 29,190 crore for Q4 2023-24. Additionally, MRPL improved its debt equity ratio from 1.7 to 0.9.

Police have registered a case following a hoax bomb threat that was delivered through email at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on April 29. City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal said the mail came to MIA from an unknown source, threatening to place explosives inside the airport and aircraft. Based on a complaint filed by Monesh KG, the chief security officer at MIA, police have registered a case under IPC Section 507. During investigation, it came to light that similar bomb-scare messages were sent to more than 25 airports across the country on the same day. A purported group identifying itself as “Terrorizers 111” had sent the email that claimed: “There are three explosive devices placed on a few airplanes and they would detonate in a few hours.” Sources said MIA, along with more than 25 Airports Authority of India (AAI) facilities and private airports had received bomb threats via email on April 29.

A man died after being struck by lightning at Subrahmanya in Kadaba taluk. The incident occurred while he was collecting arecanuts that had been left out to dry in the yard of his house. The deceased is Somasundara alias Subrahmanya, 35. He collapsed after being struck by lightning and was declared dead at Kadaba Government Hospital.
