Three separate weekend car crashes resulted in the deaths of three women and serious injuries for three other people, according to police.
In the first crash, a sedan collided head on with a pickup around 3:22 p.m. Saturday in the 12300 block of Fischer Road, killing the two women in the sedan. The driver was 32 years old and the passenger was 15, police said. Neither has been publicly identified.

A woman and a man were found shot to death at a home in Schertz in an apparent murder-suicide.
Officers with the Schertz Police Department found the body of Kristen Slack, 45, of Universal City in the front yard of a home in the 300 block of Judith Ann Drive in Schertz at 6:39 a.m. Saturday. She had multiple gunshot wounds, Schertz police said in a statement late Saturday.

Edgewood Independent School District will restructure two of its schools this summer to finalize a pre-K through high school pipeline for students interested in a STEAM-oriented education.
The reorganization was cemented by the Edgewood ISD board’s unanimous approval Thursday evening of a partnership with Texas A&M University-San Antonio that will turn Winston Elementary School into the Winston Intermediate School for Excellence.

Esequiel “Zeke” Mendoza, a trustee in the Harlandale Independent School District, has died, the district announced Monday.
Mendoza represented District 3 on the board for two terms across 12 years. He was 61.
“It’s a great loss for the district,” said Juan Mancha, vice president of the board. “He was a very honest man, hardworking and dedicated to the district.”

San Antonio surpassed 190,000 total coronavirus cases Sunday, but the pandemic’s spread in the region continued to abate.
