A previous post told the story of Phil Cavarretta, who was just 33 days past his 18th birthday when he went 5 for 6 in Game 2 of a doubleheader at Philadelphia on Aug. 21, 1935.
Cavarreta remains.
Willson Contreras already had homered and doubled against the Reds last Wednesday when he smacked a pitch to deep left center in the eighth inning with nobody on base.
Contreras may have thought.
The Cubs' 1-0 victory over the Braves on Friday was their 251st by that smallest possible score since the Modern Era began in 1901.
They won twice by 1-0 in the post season, in Game 4 of the 1906.
