WEST MICHIGAN â School superintendents across West Michigan released on Wednesday their COVID-19 pandemic legislative priorities, which they say are designed to mitigate the academic, social, emotional and physical challenges stemming from the pandemic.
Theyâre calling for adequate funding to schools, along with relief from what they call âburdensomeâ state and federal laws.
âWe know the pandemic will require schools to provide additional services to meet the needs of students, staff and families,â said Kyle Mayer, superintendent of Ottawa Area ISD. âWe require continued financial support from our federal and state governments in the coming years.â
