Five four-story buildings would house up to 274 apartments on the motel site and a parcel to the south. Thirty-nine townhomes would fill the rest of the site.
Stanley Martin Homes is planning a development at 10915 Opaca Lane, a 33-acre tract that has been home to the Hundred Acre Woods horse boarding facility.
The shopping center would be transformed into more than 1,000 apartments, 125 townhomes, a two-rink ice hockey venue, a 215-room hotel, plus office, retail and restaurant space.
