New managing director for Andrews Sykes Group

Wolverhampton-based specialist hire company Andrews Sykes Group has named its new managing director. Carl Webb has been appointed to the role and to the board, succeeding Paul Wood who recently passed away. Webb was appointed as interim managing director of the company in January 2021, prior to which he had been managing director of the company s UK business for 15 years. Jean-Jacques Murray, vice- chairman of Andrews Sykes, said: We are delighted to welcome Carl to the Board and know that the Company will continue to thrive under his leadership. Andrews Sykes Group was founded in 1857 and now operates more than 30 depots across the UK and Ireland.

Tributes paid to lifelong Charlton Athletic fan Paul Wood

Paul Wood was a lifelong Charlton Atheltic fan, and tributed from friends, family and the Addicks have poured in. Tributes have poured in for a life-long Charlton Athletic fan and managing director who passed away late last week. Paul Wood, who has followed Charlton home and away for over 50 years, has sadly died following a short illness at the age of 58. The 58-year-old owned a season ticket in the North Lower with his son Ross, and members of the club have claimed the Valley will never be the same in his absence. Paul was also the long-serving managing director at Andrews Sykes, a heating and air-conditioning hire company who have sponsored and partnered with the Addicks for several years.
