At the scene. Alyssa what do we know so far. Heres what we know so far. An nhp trooper pulled over a light colored cadillac around midnight near boulder and lamb for a traffic violation. The driver pulled over. He had two passengers in his car a man and a woman. When the trooper was running the drivers infothe man in the back of the car took off on foot. Trooper chased him into a lot. Preliminary reports show the suspect fired at the officer its unclear how many rounds and struck the officer right in his badge. The trooper was not injured and returned fire hitting and killing the suspect on scene. An nhp officer tells me. Theyre all very shaken up about the officer being shot at. Always when we hear about. Glad so again the male suspect was declared dead on scene. And the nhp trooper was given the all clear here and declined being taken to the hospital. For more about the actual shootings details.
