A young man from Paraguay arrived in Terre Haute nearly 20 years ago, ambitious and eager to study at one of the most challenging engineering schools in the country. With dark, combed over hair and a thick Spanish accent at the time along with an infectious smile and love for life he settled into the Midwest effortlessly, forming lifelong friendships.
The 36-year-old spent only four years in Indiana for his studies, but friends say he left a lasting impression on the Rose-Hulman Institute community and his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta. Even years later, his name often comes up in conversations and memories.
