RIVERVIEW â Her mother was given a handmade blanket. Her father got an engraved plaque. Her grandparents and her brother and sister each received shadow boxes filled with mementos from the 12-year-old girlâs brief life. At her school, teachers and classmates have a heart-shaped memorial garden where they can watch flowers, vegetables and a small sapling tree grow in her memory.

TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) - At a press conference Monday Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren and leaders from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will announce criminal charges against the boater who hit and killed a 12-year-old along the Alafia River earlier this year.
Jasina Campbell was killed in the crash that happened in May. Campbell and another young person were riding on a tube pulled by a boat on May 17 when Andrew Joseph Miltner’s personal watercraft collided with the tube. Both riders were thrown from the tube, and Campbell did not survive.

RIVERVIEW, Fla. - Three weeks after a drunk boater was arrested for killing a little girl on the Alafia River in May, Hillsborough County prosecutors officially charged the suspect, warning against drinking and driving or boating ahead of the holiday weekend.
On Monday Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren charged Andrew Miltner, 40, with boating under the influence manslaughter and vessel homicide in the death of 12-year-old Jasina Campbell. In that moment he ended everything, not just Jasina’s day of fun but her entire life, said Warren.

Arrest made in boat crash that killed 12-year-old girl tubing on Alafia River

Miltner was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail for the charges related to the death of 12-year-old Jasina Campbell.
On May 17, 2020, Jasina was in a tube being towed by a boat on the Alafia River when a personal watercraft crashed into them, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Investigators say Miltner was the one driving the watercraft.
Jasina s friends and family have been waiting for someone to be held responsible for her death.
