[inaudible conversations] please welcome Doris Kearns Goodwin and bud selig. [applause] hello, everybody. I am so happy to be here with my friend, the commissioner, bud selig. I now realize it was a quarter of a century ago, i came to milwaukee, and read no ordinary time about frank and roosevelt. He wanted me to talk about baseball. Always that push and pull. What is happening in baseball, what is happening in the country, we have a great relationship, we became great friends with each others families and went to the hall of fame games together, went to japan for the opening day of the red sox, and all this time, bud selig would tell these amazing stories. I was glad when he decided to write this book which is a collection of the best stories. He is a great storyteller. I am so happy to be able to ask him questions that will illuminate. We will get to the thing that is on everybodys might which is the Houston Astros disaster and what that means for baseball. This guy is always authent

[laughter] in any case, not long after receiving that degree, she was recognized already as one of the nations top young historians. She has subsequently has widespread recognition as a scholar of the revolutionary and Early National periods of American History. She is the author of numerous articles on those subjects which will appear in
This is an Industrial Recycling area. He owned as much as 600 acres here. He has partitioned off some of that to a nearby golf course. This is a small sliver of what is remaining. The significance of that is he was involved with the creation of the original president s park. It is five miles from here. It was open from 20042010. It was home to all 42 of these sculptures. He was instrumental in commissioning to come take these when that park went bankrupt. He put them in his stone crusher. He did not have the heart to do that and spent a considerable amount of his own money to transport everyone of these from that park 12 miles from here to his property here to store them temporarily until he figured out what he wanted to do with them. The sculptor of all of these is david adicks. Alive, he was a painter based out of houston. He became so inspired by Mount Rushmore that he wanted to recreate them on a smaller scale. He ended up creating all three sets of them. One of them went to a park

Paul the exhibition is called americans and its built on a paradox, a riddle. 2018, thex is, in United States is a country of 230 million people. 1 rican indians are perhaps of that population. Most americans live in urban areas, suburban areas, parts of the country where they never actually see American Indians. And yet, in American Daily life, images, advertising, mascots, surround people every single day. The show is about exploring the strange contradiction of how prevalent American Indians are in American Life really from the earliest memories of americans throughout their life, and yet somehow it was never really noticed much, never seemed is important. The Territorial Team decided to call this phenomenon indians everywhere. Its about normalizing whats actually a really weird phenomenon. We looked and we couldnt find any other country in which one ethnic group has been used for so many different purposes for such an extraordinarily long time into the present. We went to

We now have people who come down to see them. They were offlimits for a number of years. When they originally were moved here, he went to the public to enjoy the, and he kept it open for ev
