Dorsett to become new Grafton County Administrator
January 28, 2021LITTLETON After more than five years as Littleton s Town Manager, Andrew Dorsett will become the Grafton County Administrator next month. He submitted a written notice of resignation to the Littleton Select Board last week, and his last day will be Feb. 16.
The outgoing town manager will replace Julie Libby, who d served as the Grafton County Administrator for nearly 30 years. Libby plans to remain on board as the County s Financial Director.
Dorsett will exercise budgetary control over all County operations under the Board of Commissioners direction in his new role. He will also oversee all department operations, excluding the Department of Corrections and those with elected officials.

January 06, 2021LITTLETON Architect Dennis Myers presented conceptual design plans for a new cultural arts center at the Opera House at a Dec. 28 public hearing held on-site. While the bulk of renovations would occur on the ground floor level, he said an underutilized area on the main floor would be re-purposed.
Advancement of the historic building s usability was the primary goal of the $2 million project, said Town Manager Andrew Dorsett. Myers Manchester-based firm, The Architects, was contracted last summer after the town received $17,000 in grant funding. The contract expires next month.

New fire chief hired in Littleton
December 12, 2020LITTLETON According to town officials, Londonderry Battalion Chief Michael McQuillen will become Littleton s new fire chief at month s end. The fire department veteran brings more than thirty years of experience to the area, 27 of which were spent in the southern New Hampshire town.
Twenty-seven candidates applied for the position, with ten moving to the second round. The hiring committee further narrowed that number to six possibilities, and McQuillen was one of two final contenders for the post.
In a letter addressed to department heads late last month, Town Manager Andrew Dorsett said, Michael McQuillen is a well-educated and highly experienced leader in the fire service that has routinely demonstrated excellence.
