Hiker missing for 8 days found safe; survived on berries and river water KIRO 7 News Staff © Provided by KIRO Seattle An overdue hiker who had not been seen for eight days near North Bend was found safe Sunday morning, deputies said. The King County Sheriff’s Office said 25-year-old Andrew Devers was last seen around the Middle Fork Campground on June 18. Deputies said crews continued their search throughout the week. On Sunday, deputies said Devers was found by a trail runner near North Bend’s Middle Fork Trailhead. He survived on berries and river water. He was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Authorities launched a search and rescue campaign but were unable to find any signs of Devers. After a few days, they suspended their search efforts. On Sunday (June 27), a trail runner spotted Devers Middle Fork Campground in North Bend and called 911. Rescue workers found Devers and transported him to the hospital for evaluation. They did not provide any information on his condition or say if he suffered any injuries.
