Newegg, one of the leading tech-focused e-retailers in North America, today celebrates #DogeDay by announcing that the company now accepts Dogecoin as an official payment method on Newegg.com.
Newegg has been quick to embrace the shift to cryptocurrency. In 2014, the company was the first major e-retailer to accept Bitcoin for purchases made on the Newegg platform. Similarly, Newegg is among the first to enable customers to pay with Dogecoin while shopping online.

Snickers, Newegg and Milky Way have thrown their weight behind Dogecoin ahead of Doge Day.
The online retailer Newegg on Monday announced that it now accepts the cryptocurrency as payment on its website, describing Dogecoin as popular and hailing the excitement and momentum building around cryptocurrencies right now.
The candy bar brands Snickers and Milky Way, which are both manufactured by Mars Inc., have also started hyping the cryptocurrency, posting a series of tweets on Monday in support of Dogecoin fans efforts to rebrand April 20 as Doge Day.

After fans of the cryptocurrency touted April 20, long an unofficial holiday for marijuana devotees, as “Doge Day,” Dogecoin failed to come close to the $1 target that supporters hoped to reach and was falling in late afternoon trading.
