[ inaudible ] good morning. we thank you for the company i m eric thomas. and i m can is. oakland city officials say they will go back to the go back to the drawing board to come up with a plan to eliminate fewer jobs after a raucous meeting last night. terry mcsweeney is live at oakland city hall with the details. the city of oakland suddenly losing 28 million dollars in redevelopment money they are talking about job cuts and program cuts no wonder so many people turned out last night, standing room only at the city council meeting. there was a lot of noise, especially from occupy protesters. take a listen. occupy protesters say they were there on behalf of labor and they forcedb: meeting to be adjourned for 30 minutes. councilmembers notified thousands of workers last week that their jobs might be eliminated. first it was thought that maybe 200 jobs could be cut now they are talking about 105 only 81 of those jobs are currently filled. the rest are job openings that
good afternoon, i m grace lee. hi, everybody. i m frank mallicoat. it s back to court for san francisco sheriff ross mirkarimi once again. this time he will have a new lawyer by his side. anne makovec with more and the sheriff s plan to ask the judge to reverse an order that s stopping him from seeing his wife and son. reporter: legal experts think the judge will likely lift the protective order that s right now keeping him away from his wife and son. and experts say that is because there was only one documented violent incident with his wife. there are a couple of things that the judge has to balance. it s cruel to keep a father away from his wife and child. and but at the same time, the judge has to balance if there is a danger. reporter: sheriff ross mirkarimi is charged with three misdemeanor counts, domestic violence battery, child endangerment and dissuading a witness. he is accused of bruising his wife s arm during an argument in front of his 2-year-old son. he
wrongful death suit. 45- year- old charles hill was shot and killed at bart s civic center station in san franicsco july third. officials say he had threatened officers with a knife and a bottle before he was shot. the contra costa times reports hill s brother is suing the transit agency for unspecified damages. oakland police want help finding 36-year- old remon mcdaniel. they think he s the gunman .. responsible for the city s first homicide of 2012. mcdaniel is accused of killing 19- year- old isaac white in east oakland on january 4th. police say members of the community helped identify mcdaniel as the suspect. they also say he may have changed his hair since the murder. oakland jobs and programs on the line as city leaders deal with a big blow to the budget. and last night, protesters shouted down any talk about cutting jobs. gil diaz outside city hall with the budget debate. even, some of the unions here, tonight, your parent unions agreed to elimination of redevelop
