FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jack Pollert lead a balanced offense as five Shanley Deacons socred in double figures in a 77-49 win over Valley City Tuesday night at the Deacon Gym.
Pollert had 15 points to lead the Deacons. Connor Kraft had 14 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots. Tyler Kraft had 13 points, Braden DeKeyser had 12 points and Emmet Kenneyhad 10 points.
Peyton Zaun had 14 points to lead Valley City. Derrick Diegel had eight points and a team high five rebounds. Jared Eggermont and Andrew Berntson both had seven points and four rebounds.
Shanley improves to 8-7 in the Eastern Dakota Conference and 8-8 overall. Valley City falls to 5-11 in the EDC and 4-13 overall.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City used a strong second half on both ends of the floor to pick up a much needed win. The Hi-Liners outscored Fargo South 37-20 in the second half for a 64-48 win.
The first half saw four ties and five lead changes, with the last one coming at the end of an 8-0 run by South to end the first half with a 28-27 lead.
The Hi-Liners took the lead 27-20 thanks to an 11-4 run. The run was started by Drew Zaun’s three-pointer from the top of the key with 7:44 remaining to make it 19-16 Hi-Liners. The run was capped off by a long three-pointer by Adam Bitz with 4:42 to go. But then South cranked up the pressure defense to end the half and score the last eight points. The last two scored by Khamani Steckler on a inside basket with 1:12 remaining in the half to give his team the 28-27 lead at the break.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fargo North used a 14-0 run to turn a five point deficit into a nine point lead midway through the second half on the way to a 74-60 come-from-behind win over Valley City Thursday night in boys basketball at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.
North led by as much as 11 in the first half at 20-9 after Isaac Cody’s three pointer with 11:09 remaining in the half. Cody was fouled in the act of shooting but missed the free throw to keep it at 11.
Valley City would use a 15-4 run to tie the game at 24 capped off by two free throws by Alex Thornton with 6:09 remaining in the first half.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – West Fargo ended the game on a 22-6 run to pick up a hard fought 90-75 win over Valley City in high school boys basketball Tuesday night at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.
The start of the game was all West Fargo, the top ranked team in class A. The Packers started the game on a 19-5 run for their biggest lead with 13:22 to go in the first half. But the Hi-Liners would storm back to get to within two at 21-19 with a 14-2 run capped off by Adam Bitz’s three-pointer with 9:58 to go. Each team would go on five point mini runs to make it 26-24 Packers.
