FRESH plans have been submitted for a ‘care village’ on the outskirts of Kelty with 49 new homes. James Thomson, of Hilton Farm, has applied to Fife Council for permission to develop five-and-a-half hectares of his land between Seafar Drive and Black Road. A previous plan, submitted last year, included a health centre but that was withdrawn. Mr Thomson’s planning agent, Andrew Bennie, said: “It is submitted that this proposed development represents a historic opportunity to deliver a uniquely well-located site with nationally-leading provision of housing for our ageing population.” Although the application is for planning permission in principle, with final details still to be determined, it’s envisaged that there would be 30 affordable homes and 19 affordable retirement homes on the site.
