New research has determined that the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic led to increased depression, anxiety and social risks among urban, racial, and ethnic minority children aged five to 11 years old compared to the prior six months.

CROSSLEY Sandra Lou Shick Crossley, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family and friends on April 12, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A 20-year resident of Greensboro, N.C., Sandy was born in Williamsport, on March 4, 1946 to the late Lee and Mildred Shick. She worked for Bell of Pennsylvania and then AT&T in Virginia and Georgia. She retired from telecommunications after 35 years, moved to Greensboro to be near family and enjoyed meaningful work as Clinic Manager for Stillpoint Acupuncture, where she found a wonderful and nurturing work family. Throughout her life, no matter where she lived, whom she met or what circumstances she faced, Sandy made the same impact on every person she met, supported and loved. A gentle presence in every room, she was a beautiful human who loved deeply and spread kindness through her welcoming and compassionate way. She radiated warmth and patience, never sought recognition, was a great listener
