Pharmacist pleads guilty after attempting to destroy virus vaccines

pharmacist has been formally charged after he tampered with hundreds of doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
Steven Brandenburg, 46, pled guilty to attempting to tamper with the COVID-19 vaccine in federal court on Tuesday. He told officials he was skeptical of the Moderna vaccine.
Brandenburg allegedly took boxes of the vaccine out of the refrigerator where they were being stored and purposely left them out on December 24 and 25.

Wilber Portillo, a skateboard-loving Coloradan from El Salvador, died at 18 after contracting COVID-19 last year, according to a food pantry where he volunteered.
‘He was a guy with a lot of light’
That night, the teen died in his sleep.
‘It’s a little bit difficult to know that he doesn’t exist physically anymore,’ Portillo’s uncle,
Oscar Castillo told Denverite.
‘He was a guy with a lot of light.’
It’s not known what caused his death, but the doctor’s office informed his family two days later that he had tested positive for the virus.
‘It just took us by surprise how it happened,’ Castillo said.
‘We will never find out what caused his death.’
