Initially, former rugby player Zane Kilian was the sole accused arrested shortly after the murder of Kinnear on 18 September 2020. On Friday, 14 May, Modack, appearing in the Blue Downs regional court, was added to the charge sheet.
Modack will now appear alongside Kilian, Jacques Cronje, Ricardo Anthony Morgan, Janick Adonis, Amaal Jantjies and Ashley Tabisher in a consolidated indictment handed to the court.
The indictment consists of 62 charges and is a combined summary of incidents relating to the failed hand grenade attack on Kinnear’s home on 23 November 2019, his assassination, the failed hit on the life of criminal lawyer William Booth on 9 April 2020 as well as the pinging of both the cell phones of Booth and Kinnear and 21 other individuals.

Cape Town â The group of 15 men, including key underworld figures appeared in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Wednesday on a range of crimes including the murder of steroid king, Brian Wainstein.
Alleged underworld kingpin Mark Lifman, alleged underworld kingpin and leader of the Sexy Boys gang, Jerome âDonkieâ Booysen, alleged underworld kingpin Andre Naude, Samuel Farquharson, Jakobus Stevens, Egan Norman, Wayne Henderson, Anthony Amier van der Watt, Ricardo Maarman, Typhyenne Jantjies, Bevan Cedric Ezaus, Bradley De Bula, Kashief Hanslo, Rowendal Stevens, and Ismail Cupido were served with an indictment by the state and face 38 charges against them.

Cape Town - An indictment detailing the Stateâs case against alleged underworld giants Jerome Booysen, Mark Lifman and 13 others, showcases 38 serious charges involving conspiracy, guns, gangs, dirty police, incitement to kill security guards at top clubs in the city, to underworld figures and former rugby players and murder playing out like a movie scene.
Controversial businessman Mark Lifman, alleged Sexy Boys gang boss Jerome Booysen, Andre Naude and 12 others, including a Sea Point detective, made an appearance at the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court earlier this week.
It has been a busy day for the underworld industry after their alleged top bosses appeared in the dock at the Cape Town Magistrates Court and will face trial for Brain “Steroid King,” Wainstein.
