Dave Frederick Aarin Burton Cape lacrosse gave him a chance to play attack on man-up situations, and the Big Cat decided he liked “ringing the bell” better than he liked football. And so on his own he found his way to Bethany College, where he lights it up for night and day games. Aarin had six goals and an assist in an opening-season win over Franciscan, then came back in the second game with a goal and an assist in a 16-7 loss to Westminster. The biggest assist Aarin provided for Bethany was bringing in Cape running mate Andre Currie to complete a Double-A attack duo.

Mattioni had wrestled at Valley Forge Military Academy and The Citadel, then spent two years coaching at Stanford High School in Goose Creek, S.C. He is not a stiff and buttoned-up personality who prefers to be called sir, but more the gracious, loquacious and affable teacher-coach type guy.
