With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic last March, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order 2020-21 directing all “Michigan businesses and operations to temporarily suspend in-person operations that are not necessary to sustain or protect life.” The downside of the order reverberated throughout the state’s economy, resulting in bankruptcies, a sharp runup in unemployment filings, an exodus from offices and schools, and a resulting patchwork of dozens of controversial and conflicting regulations.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A car crashed into a restaurant on Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle collision in the roadway.
Police were called to the scene around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, for a report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries, WXYZ Detroit reports. One of the vehicles had also crashed into the Andiamo Restaurant, which is near the roadway in an out lot of a strip mall on Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota Camry, driven by an 87-year-old woman, was making a left turn into the shopping center when the vehicle was struck by a Ford Escape, police said. The impact caused the Camry to continue travelling into the shopping center parking lot where it came to a stop after colliding with the restaurant. Andiamo was closed at the time of the crash. Both drivers received medical treatment at a local hospital, police said.
