AMARAVATI: The State government has accorded permission for the establishment of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy in the Kurnool district on a permanent basis. Orders to this effect were issued by the AP Law Secretary G Satyaprabhakar on Wednesday. As of now, the government has directed that the Judicial Academy should be established at Mangalagiri. Justice NV Ramana was administered the Oath of office by the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind as the new Chief Justice of India.
He will be the 48th person to hold the post and his term will end on August 26, 2022.
Previously, he was the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and the acting Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court. He has also served as the president of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy.
He is a first-generation lawyer, having an agricultural background, and hails from Ponnavaram Village, Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh. He is an avid reader and literature enthusiast. He is passionate about Carnatic music.
