Anderson County Fair begins Monday; Best Six Days of Summer You can t keep a good fair down. After being canceled last year because of COVID-19, the Anderson County Fair described as the Best Six Days of Summer begins Monday at the Clinton Fairgrounds at the intersection of Charles Seivers Boulevard and Nave Street. Gates open at 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, July 12-17, and close at 10 p.m. with the exception of Friday and Saturday, when the gates close at 11 p.m., according to the schedule at the fair website, andersoncountyfairtn.com. The costs Admission to the fair is $5 a person or $20 for all week. Children under 6 get into the fair free. Thanks to sponsors, free admission extends to anyone 15 and under Monday through Thursday. If you want to ride the amusement park rides, which start at 6 p.m., you can pay $20 for an armband that lets you ride all the rides all night.

Anderson County Fair history given to archives The Oak Ridger CLINTON – An historical record of the Anderson County Fair and Stock Association, dating back to Aug. 24, 1889, has been given to the county’s Archives and Records Department. Mick Wiest, a founding member and executive director of the Oak Ridge Heritage & Preservation Association, recently brought the Fair history book to the Archives at the Anderson County Courthouse. The book will be on display at next week’s Anderson County Fair. “The fact that this book is in as good condition as it is, is astonishing,” Anderson County Archivist Zach Foster said of the leather-bound book. “It’s been preserved incredibly well,” he said in a news release.
