Yale Blue Green hosts dialogue on JEDI in natural areas management

The program was moderated by Georgia Silvera Seamans ’01 MEM, an urban and community forester based in New York City, who opined that the management of public lands and natural habitats in the U.S. continues to be dominated by a longstanding hegemonic model.

(WTXL) — Florida State Senator Lori Berman (D-Delray Beach) and Representative Tracie Davis (D-Jacksonville) filed Senate Bill 180 and House Bill 275 to create Florida’s first Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, headed by the Chief Diversity Officer. Berman and Davis proposed bills state the Chief Diversity Officer would advise the governor on existing inequities among minority groups in the state and engage with state agencies and business leaders to identify inclusive practices that support the recruitment and retention of employees from underrepresented groups.
