what matters is these are largely unvaccinated people who are coming in really sick, thanks to this horrible virus. i will say that the folks who come in who are vaccinated have, by and large, not been ill enough to need hospitalization unless they ve got some other thing going on and they just happen to have covid that made their underlying medical condition worse. but by and large the vaccinated are doing okay. it is really still a severe disease for those who have not gotten the vaccines. of the people who are unvaccinated coming in and need to be admitted are there any trend lines with them? are they smokers? are they morbidly obese? are they seniors? is there anything consistent there? so in our state we ve actually done a great job of vaccinating seniors, so 65 plus have tremendous vaccination rates. so i m actually admitting, percentage wise, a larger percentage of folks who are younger, in their 30s, 40s, and
the ohio valley and eventually make snow for upstate new york and parts of new york state and boston as well. there is the snow on the coldest part of the storm. otherwise, it is going to be an ice event. big-time ice in a lot of the country. some spots you have the blue areas there. that is just unbelievably hard to drive in or impossible to drive in. then when it gets farther northeast, it turns into snow. not for you in d.c. temperatures in the 40s and 50s. today, nice and mild. look what happens to new york. into the upper 30s. morning lows in the 20s. that could freeze some of this stuff too. . coming from california, i always thought the ice was so beautiful until i had to deal with it. sit indeed not. chad, thank you so much. so coming on the heels of that post-game fight between michigan coach juwan howard and others. some suggested getting rid of the handshake line.
facing right now. we have been working with state officials for the last year and a half. they did a great job last year of helping us get personal protective equipment and getting laboratory supplies and equipment when they were in short supply around the world. last year with a really frail elderly population, it was hard to discharge them because you couldn t. they no longer needed to be in the hospital but they still were testing positive for covid. you had to find a place for them outside the hospital so you could free up the bed. you couldn t send them back to a nursing home. we had a lot of coordination and collaboration with emergency management officials to try to work through that logistically. now, this population is in its 30s, 40s, and 50s, there aren t any challenges there. supplies are there. it comes down to trying not to wear out your staff. definitely. look, we all need to do what we can do to keep you all doing your job. so justin, really appreciate you being with
