Pasco fire crews battle brush fire near Anclote High School

Officials say the fire is close to homes on Banner Stone Court and Blue River Drive. Author: 10 Tampa Bay Updated: 6:54 PM EDT April 9, 2021 PASCO COUNTY, Fla. Pasco County Fire Rescue crews are working a large brush fire near Anclote High School in Holiday. According to a press release, firefighters are working an active fire that is near homes on Banner Stone Court and Blue River Drive. Several Pasco County Fire Rescue engines and brush trucks are in the area to help protect the homes. Firefighters say residents have been put on alert, but have not yet been asked to evacuate.

Crews beat back brush fire threatening Holiday neighborhood Justin Matthews reports HOLIDAY, Fla. - A brush fire burned about 20 acres between Anclote High School and the Key Vista neighborhood in Pasco County Friday. Fortunately, no one s home was damaged, but the view from SkyFox showed smoke and flames appearing to come dangerously close, with about 10 being temporarily evacuated. The plume of smoke could be seen for miles. Some neighbors who saw the smoke weren t too worried about it, at first. The events wonât take place at the University of South Floridaâs Yuengling Center, though. After learning the arena wonât be available in June, district officials worked out new arrangements to have each school hold its commencement at its campus stadium. Three smaller schools will hold indoor activities.
