Statewide COVID report records 217 new cases, one death

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Tuesday reported the death of one person and 217 new people identified with COVID-19. Two-hundred and ten were residents. Anchorage led the way with 64 cases and neighboring Eagle River had 33.  Wasilla had 28 cases, Fairbanks, 23, and Palmer, 13.   The person who died recently was an Anchorage man in his 50s.   Seventy-four patients diagnosed with COVID-19 are hospitalized.   There are also nine hospitalized who are under investigation.   Of the 210 stricken Tuesday, 89 are male and 121 female.  Seven are under the age of 10; 23 are between 10 and 19; 44 are aged 20 to 29; 45 are between 30 to 39; 31 are from 40 to 49 years old; 30 are aged 50 to 59; 22 range from 60 to 69; five are between 70 and 79; and three are 80 or older.
