Former health minister Zweli Mkhize’s lobbyists are shopping for a new candidate for ANC deputy president after a fall-out with Paul Mashatile's group.
Some ANC provinces are hoping the party leadership will extend the cut-off date to allow branches to properly convene to nominate their preferred candidates for the December electoral conference.
In a legal letter, seen by Eyewitness News, to the ANC’s Luthuli House headquarters, party member Ondela Sokomani, claims that processes leading up to the conference were marred by serious irregularities and the disregard of adopted guidelines.
