MK Stalin to take oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu today
DMK president MK Stalin on Friday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at Raj Bhavan in Chennai. Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered him the oath of office and secrecy. Besides Stalin, 33 ministers also took oath today. Stalin has retained senior leaders like Duraimurugan in the government. 15 of them are ministers for the first time.
Stalin will hold Home and other portfolios including public, general administration, all India services, district revenue officers, special programme implementation and welfare of differently abled persons, according to a release shared by the Raj Bhavan. Stalin, who assumed office as Chief Minister for the first time, said that the names of certain departments have been rechristened. It includes agriculture department which shall now be agriculture and farmers welfare.

Chief Minister-designate MK Stalin s list of persons to be appointed as ministers along with their portfolios has been approved by Governor Banwarilal Purohit, a Raj Bhavan release said.
MK Stalin will be sworn in as the Chief Minister on Friday.
MK Stalin, who would assume office as Chief Minister for the first time, shall hold Home and other portfolios including public, general administration, all India services, district revenue officers, special programme implementation and welfare of differently-abled persons, the release said.

Chennai: DMK president MK Stalin will be administered the oath of office as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu by state Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday (May 7) at the Raj Bhavan premises. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 9 AM.
After getting the Governor s invitation to form government, Stalin on Thursday evening released a list of 34-member cabinet, retaining senior leaders like Duraimurugan along with 15 ministers for the first time. The list, containing names and portfolios of the ministers, was sent to the Governor for his approval and it was approved.

The event at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai was a simple ceremony due to Covid-19 restrictions in place.
