Pune Cantonment Board (
PCB) is now asking hawkers of
Shivaji Market in Camp to pay all the pending dues, especially the ones who’ve defaulted the payment of license fees including arrears to prevent action against them. The vendors have pointed out that they’ve survived a major fire breakout in March, followed by lockdown and it has left them with no money.
A major fire had broken out in Shivaji market in early March this year, leading to huge losses, the hawkers claim that instead of helping the distressed people when needed, the PCB is now approaching them for the money. Over 100 fruit and vegetable hawkers are yet to pay an amount of Rs 13 lakh to the cantonment board and will face action if they fail to do so.
