Last week, Nifty Bank surged 2 per cent following the announcement by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) of giving a dividend of Rs 2.11 lakh crore to the government.
IOB share price: On the earnings front, the Chennai-based bank said it has reported a highest-ever net profit of Rs 808 crore for the fourth quarter and Rs 2,656 crore for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024 (FY24).
The volatility, which reached a two-year high, is likely to remain elevated until the election results, with the Nifty 50 expected to consolidate around the 23,000 mark, experts said.
