With the latest cases, the country s overall caseload surpassed 2.73 million and the tally of fatalities stands at 28,771 after 65 people died over the past 24 hours, according to Health Ministry data.
As many as 7,191 people won their battle against the disease, bringing the number of recoveries to near 2.6 million.
In a statement on the latest results of Phase 3 trials in Turkey of the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said its overall efficiency was 83.5% with a hospitalization prevention rate of 100%.

The country s case-count surpassed 2.6 million, while the nationwide death toll reached 27,903, with 82 fatalities in the past day. As many as 7,498 more patients won their battle against the virus, bringing the number of recoveries to more than 2.5 million. The latest figures show that the number of COVID-19 patients in critical condition at 1,185.
Nine Daesh/ISIS terror suspects who were allegedly involved in terror activities were arrested in Istanbul, according to a security source.
Israel reported 5,804 infections amid ongoing efforts to provide a COVID-19 vaccine for its citizens.
France reported 19,348 new cases, bringing total infections to 2.6 million.
Former Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa has contracted the virus, local media reported.
Other global developments
