Sixth Sitting of the European Integration Committee
At the sitting held on 12 March 20, the members of the European Integration Committee considered, in principle, the Bill on Climate Change, submitted by the Government.
The Bill was presented by Assistant Minister for Environmental Protection Sandra Dokic who said that its goal is to establish a system to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in a cost-effective manner and thus contribute to reaching emission levels needed to avoid dangerous global climate change and adverse impacts of climate change.
Reducing gas emissions and the impact on climate change will have a beneficial effect on health, the economy, water management and environmental protection in general. The Bill creates the legal basis needed to establish a GHG emission monitoring and reporting system in order to reduce GHG emissions and adapt to changing climatic conditions in accordance with the needs and capabilities of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the requi
