Incumbents win nearly every seat in Grapevine, Colleyville elections A runoff on June 5 will determine who will win the Place 1 trustee seat in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. One school board member was unseated in Saturday s municipal elections, which was the only instance when an incumbent lost in Grapevine and Colleyville.(Tom Fox / Staff Photographer) 2:55 PM on May 3, 2021 CDT Voters in Grapevine and Colleyville overwhelmingly chose to keep previously elected officials in office in Saturday’s municipal and school board elections. In Colleyville, two city council seats were determined. For the Place 5 seat, incumbent Chuck Kelley defeated challenger Amyn Gilani. Kelley garnered 59% of the vote while Gilani got 41%.

Amyn Gilani, who is running for the Place 5 Council seat in Colleyville, said he was in the parking lot of City Hall on Saturday and walked past political volunteer David Medlin and Place 5 City Council member Chuck Kelley, who were having a conversation. David Medlin sticks his fist out and says, white power, Gilani said.

Gonzalez / Staff Photographer) Controversy has come to Colleyville’s city council election following a report by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that ties a city council member to the registration of website domains that include the names of two rival candidates. In February, four website domains featuring the names of city council candidates Amyn Gilani (GilaniForColleyville.com and AmynForCollyeville.com) and Kurt Meyer II (KurtForColleyville.com and MeyerForColleyville.com) were registered by Rigney Financial Services, according to the newspaper. The financial company’s principal is Wayne Rigney, the husband of Colleyville City Council Place 6 Member Callie Rigney.
