SEYMOUR, Ind. – Schneck Medical Center in Seymour is celebrating its volunteers during National Volunteer Week this week, now through April 24. The volunteer program at Schneck operates with a mission to develop and maintain a program that serves as an extension of staff, supports the mission, vision, values, and goals of the hospital, and enhances the services provided at the medical center.
“This is a time to honor hospital volunteers for their compassion toward patients, staff, and the community,” said Amy Cockerham, Volunteer Manager.
During the pandemic, there was no participation of volunteers at the hospital. Now that the COVID vaccine is available, Schneck is welcoming volunteers back for the first time in nearly a year. “The absence of our volunteers really made us aware of how valuable they are,” said Cockerham.
