Proposed Amtrak route through Crestline gaining support

During a virtual media roundtable Tuesday about possible expansion in Ohio, Amtrak President Stephen Gardner said projected ridership could reach 400,000-500,000 annually along the 250-mile route that would include stops in Crestline, Delaware and Springfield. Amtrak is looking at three round trips daily. Cincinnati-Cleveland trip could take less than 4 hours He said the trip between Cincinnati and Cleveland might initially take 5½ hours, but that could be brought down to just less than four hours. The trip by car now is about four hours and 20 minutes, he said. Many motorists can make it in four hours. We spent the past three years developing a strategy, Amtrak CEO Bill Flynn said.
