A dusk-to-dawn curfew was imposed in parts of the city after large-scale violence, arson and numerous stabbing incidents left two killed in group clashes during the Bangalore bandh organised by the supporters of Kannada matinee idol Raj Kumar.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh said police received an intimation at around midnight that "a loud sound" had been heard. A low-intensity explosion was heard near Sri Guru Ram Dass Niwas in the vicinity of the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Thursday morning. It is the third explosion in Amritsar within a week.
