A man was charged in two courts here today on charges of possession of imitation firearms, offensive weapons, police items and prohibited publications containing elements of communist ideology
BUTTERWORTH: Two policemen pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of bribery at the Sessions Court here on Tuesday (April 27).
Bribery charges were slapped on Corporal Mohamad Faizal Hashim (five counts) and Inspector Syed Amir Syed Kamarul Baharim (one count), dating back to 2016.
The 35-year-old corporal and 37-year-old inspector were jointly charged with receiving a RM1,500 bribe from an Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) agent provocateur named Shahrizal Abdul Rahman, who used the alias Faizal Rahim.
The two are accused of receiving the bribe as an inducement to not take action against Faizal s illegal ketum business under Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act at Restoran Mashitah Tomyam in Kepala Batas on July 23,2016 at around 8.30pm.
