4 employers in Livingston cited for COVID-19 workplace violations

Four employers in Livingston County were cited for workplace safety violations related to COVID-19 protocols, according to state workplace safety officials.   The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently launched an online dashboard of COVID-19 related violations issued to Michigan businesses, which can be viewed at Michigan.gov/MIOSHACOVIDCitations  As of Friday morning, MIOSHA reported 171 employers in the state had been cited, many of them fined, for failing to comply. The dashboard is updated at around 3 p.m. on Fridays.  In the county, the largest fine related to COVID-19 protocols was issued to Hair Mechanix of Brighton, a barber shop and salon for men located in the Green Oak Village Place Mall in Green Oak Township.

March 1, 2021 Two area businesses have been fined by the state for COVID-19 workplace safety violations. The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration or MIOSHA inspected and issued COVID-19 emergency rule or general duty citations to 23 different workplaces with violations for failing to protect workers and take safety precautions. On-site inspections conducted by MIOSHA’s general industry and construction industry enforcement divisions determined the employers allegedly committed violations by failing to implement necessary precautions to protect employees from contracting the virus. Deficiencies included a lack of health screenings, face coverings, employee training, and overall preparedness plans. In the local area, two businesses received COVID emergency rule citations.

Sentinel Staff LANSING The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspected and issued COVID-19 safety citations to 23 different workplaces with violations, the state announced Friday. Twenty businesses were cited for COVID-19 emergency rules citations and three others were fined for general duty citations. Each citation carries a fine of up to $7,000.  Here are the businesses cited for COVID-19 emergency rules citations: Midway Rentals and Sales in Negaunee Beacon Park Finishing LLC and its successors in Roseville Iron Mountain Powersports LLC of Kingsford Brighton NC Machine Corp in Brighton McLaren Port Huron Hospital in Port Huron Prefix Corporation in Auburn Hills
