SCRANTON â Nancy Sacchetti was able to breathe a sigh of relief Wednesday when she learned she didnât have COVID-19.
âItâs a great feeling to know that so far, I donât have it,â the 72-year-old Amos Towers resident said.
Sacchetti was one of 57 residents at the senior housing complex on Jefferson Avenue to register for a COVID-19 test through the Wright Center for Community Healthâs new mobile medical unit on Wednesday, said Jason Kavulich, director of the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging. About 100 people live in Amos Towers, he said.
Wednesday was the mobile testing clinicâs first foray into Lackawanna County, said Patrice Wilding, the marketing and communications content manager at the Wright Center.

So, healthcare workers in Lackawanna County are bringing testing directly to patients living in senior housing.
More than 100 seniors live at Amos Towers on Jefferson Avenue.
All of them considered high-risk for COVID-19, but many of them don t have an easy way to get tested for the virus.
So, the testing came to them. This has been the most wonderful morning in a long time, I know we re out there, and we re worried about everybody, our lives, everything. And here, people that I would consider heroes have come to our aid, said resident Mary Ann Beckage.
