Jharkhand Director General of Police Ajay Kumar Singh reported that the parliamentary polls in the state were conducted peacefully, with improved planning and deployment of forces resulting in a record seizure of cash and materials worth around Rs 84 crore.
Around 50,000 security personnel, including state police and paramilitary forces, were deployed to ensure peaceful polling in the four parliamentary constituencies of the state on Saturday. 764 polling booths were categorized as extremist-sensitive, located in various parts of the state. State police also carried out inter-state checks along the borders with neighboring states. Ranchi SSP and his team visited several booths to ensure free and fair elections. Traffic department issued directives to manage vehicle movement during the polling period.
