When Amobi Okoye arrived in Alabama at the age of 12 after immigrating with his family from Ananbra State, Nigeria, he didn t know anything about football, as reported by Sportscasting. Because he tested so well academically, he was placed in the ninth grade, which meant he graduated from high school and started college at just 16 years old. Men s Journal. In his senior year in 2006, Okoye had a breakout season during which he had eight sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss, helping lead the team to a 12-1 season.
