Hammond school officials say the ongoing stalemate in contract negotiations with the teacher s union has delayed needed cost-cutting measures required by DUAB.
The mayor is one of the 35 volunteers bringing story time to all second grade classrooms in the School City of Hammond as part of "Read Across Hammond Week."
Jonathon Berkley, 35, will get time served for the crime, as he already spent time in the Lake County Jail and was on an ankle monitor for three years.
