MUMBAI: An FIR was filed on Thursday against Amit Wadhwani of Sai Estate Consultants and Lalit Tekchandani after they allegedly sent a bouncer to a builder’s office to threaten him to pay Wadhwani brokerage. Chunabhatti police registered the FIR against them and a bouncer, Vijay Rajbhar, under IPC sections for issuing threats, extortion and criminal intimidation. Wadhwani said he would challenge the “bogus case”.
Sanjay Devnani of Pardis Construction told police he used services of Wadhwani’s Sai Estate to sell properties in 2015-17 but as it did not yield good results he discontinued the services.
On September 11, Wadhwani told Devnani to clear a “pending bill’’ of Rs 20 lakh. The builder claimed he did not owe anything and blocked his number. On October 23, when he unblocked it, he got many messages and calls from Wadhwani demanding money. Devnani sought a meeting but Wadhwani never replied.
