Veev, a homebuilder based in Hayward, California, hoped that the construction of more modular homes would help tackle the nation’s chronic shortage of new homes. CEO Amit Haller, who co-founded the company in 2008, took part in an interview with The Associated Press on Nov. 16 that was published on Nov. 27. However, the company subsequently told the AP that its latest round of investor funding fell through last week. As a result, Veev will be liquidating its assets in a process similar to a bankruptcy filing. The interview with Haller has been edited for length and clarity.
