Herat Hosts Two-Day Event on Ancient Poet Nava’i
A two-day event was launched in the western city of Herat on Wednesday on the 580th birth anniversary of prominent philosopher, poet and writer Amir Ali-Shir Nava i.
Envoys from seven countries, including Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Iran have attended the event that discusses the legacy of the ancient poet.
Nava i was born in Afghanistan’s Herat province in 1441. He died in 1501.
During his lifetime, Herat was under the rule of the Timurid Empire and it became one of the leading cultural and intellectual centers in the Muslim world.
Dostum: Al Qaeda Footprint Seen in North of Afghanistan
Former Vice President Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum on Wednesday said that there is still a presence of some top Al Qaeda affiliates in northern Afghanistan who have close ties with the Taliban.
Dostum said that Nasruddin, who is the grandson of Al Qaeda s founder Osama Bin Laden, and Saifuddin Haqqani, the son of Sirajuddin Haqqani, are currently in the Ghormach and Bala Murghab districts in the north.
Dostum suggested that the Taliban return to the negotiation table instead of making trips to other countries, and tthat the group will not be able to achieve victory through war.

th birth anniversary of Amir Ali Shir Nawayee.
According to a statement from the presidential palace, at the outset Mohammad Tahir Zuhair, Acting Minister of Information and Culture, while presenting information about the celebration of the 580
th birth anniversary of the historical figure Amir Ali Shir Nawayee in coming Solar Year and the reconstruction of his tomb, said that his led ministry will begin the reconstruction of other cultural and literary figures and historical monuments of Afghanistan.
Uzbekistan to Help Restore Ancient Poet s Shrine in Herat
Members of an Uzbek delegation to Afghanistan s Herat province said they plan to restore the shrine of the prominent philosopher, poet and writer Amir Ali-Shir Nava i.
In a trip to Herat, a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan described the poet Nava i and his legacy as a common heritage of both Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, and a connecting bridge.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) said that Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have prepared to celebrate the 580th birthday of Nava i together.

Ali Sher Nava i was born in 1441 in the western province of Herat. He died in 1501.
