carry as lot of weight, carry as lot of baggage. you have to defend every element in that ryan plan. he has to do that anyway. might as well have the guy who is better than defending it frankly. do you have a pick, chuck? i think it s a short list of portman, i think you ll see a woman that gets seriously vet. my gut is kelly and i on the take out of new hampshire and tim pawlenty. i think he would love to put a mid western governor on the ticket.pawlenty. i think he would love to put a mid western governor on the ticket. there is no sitting governor that makes a lot of sense, but becau pawlenty may make sense as a former. thanks. it s only april. by the way, only thing interesting about romney right the way. by the way, polls close in four of tonight s primary states. nbc will have full complete results here on msnbc and we ll be giving them to you throughout
the november presidential election. wisconsin, of course, one of several key mid western states that helped elects barack obama in 2008 but elected many republicans including walker in 2010. who can forget the angry protests in the state capital when walker cut benefits as a way to solve the budget deficit. that will be his recall defense as the governor told fox news recently. the people of wisconsin don t want to go back to the days of double digit tax increases and record job losses. if the recall election happens and let me be clear it will take two months to go through the signatures with, then you have to have two 0 three months for campaigning. fit happens, walker would appear on the ballot against an opponent. and so far democrats have not settled on a candidate.
decided in some combination that mccain lost, swing states, florida, north carolina, virginia, new hampshire, pennsylvania, wisconsin, maybe michigan, maybe iowa. it s going to come down to five or six states. mostly great lakes, mid western. that s part of my question. can a guy talking about succe succeeding from the union rick perry wrote a book last year. do the people of minnesota believe that they should elect their senators at the ballot boxes or have poll titicians appoint them? h how do you think that s going to go? they want to elect their senators. the government is out of
you have to defend the guys with the parkas, your thought on that, ben, i m talking morally. can you be the party of the working people if you don t defend them? in the long-term they see the working people moving away from the old stereotype. being less white, less mid western. more high-tech? there are a lot of working people in colorado and virginia, increasing numbers of them hispanic. i find that strategy pretty despicable to turn your back on the people voting democrat for 30 or 40 years and say by the way, we ve found some more friends. they are not saying that. i don t think they are turning their back on those people, in order to try to expand the map as much as possible they are acknowledging there s another brand of working person in america today. as ben points out, a lot of those voters are latino and in the southwest. no reason a democratic party can t go after both the industrial midwest and those voters. that would be ideal, i m with
how you can win in other places, i don t think it s moral. you have to defend the guys with the parkas, your thought on that, ben, i m talking morally. can you be the party of the working people if you don t defend them? in the long-term they see the working people moving away from the old stereotype. being less white, less mid western. more high-tech? there are a lot of working people in colorado and virginia, increasing numbers of them hispanic. i find that strategy pretty despicable to turn your back on the people voting democrat for 30 or 40 years and say by the way, we ve found some more friends. they are not saying that. i don t think they are turning their back on those people, in order to try to expand the map as much as possible they are acknowledging there s another brand of working person in america today. as ben points out, a lot of those voters are latino and in the southwest. no reason a democratic party can t go after both the
